The Familiar Road Is No Longer Faithful
A method once supplied by God can become disobedient when fresh instruction points elsewhere.

Cherith was not a mistake. God directed Elijah there, sustained him by ravens, and provided water from the brook. Then the water dried. The same place that testified to yesterday’s provision became incapable of sustaining tomorrow’s assignment.
We often treat a drying brook as proof that we missed God. Sometimes it is evidence that the season completed its work. The danger begins when gratitude for former provision becomes loyalty to a method after God has spoken a new direction.
Elijah had to arise before he saw how Zarephath would sustain him. Fresh provision was waiting inside fresh obedience. Honor the brook, but listen for the next word. God remains the Source when the form of provision changes.
