The Wilderness Between Directions
The indirect road may be the place where God prepares the people who must arrive.

Israel could see a shorter road, but God could see a fragile people. The direct route would have placed them before warfare they were not ready to face. What looked inefficient geographically was merciful spiritually.
We judge direction by speed because arrival is our primary concern. God also considers formation. He knows whether our character can carry what our desire wants quickly. The wilderness may expose dependence, heal the imagination of slavery, and teach us to follow before it allows us to possess.
Do not call every indirect season a detour. Some roads curve because grace is protecting you from an arrival your present formation could not sustain. Walk attentively. Gather what the wilderness is teaching. Prepared arrival is better than premature access.
