Lamentations 3:40
Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.THE WORD
Lamentations calls a devastated community to examine its ways and return to the LORD. Biblical self-examination is purposeful: truth leads toward repentance, repair, and renewed covenant life.
It is not endless inward surveillance. Scrupulosity, obsessive guilt, trauma, and depression can turn reflection into accusation that never permits grace. In such cases, pastoral and clinical support may be necessary.
Ask specific questions, distinguish sin from limitation, confess what is real, and stop rehearsing what Christ has forgiven. Examination is a doorway, not a prison.
CONFRONTATION QUESTION
What specific pattern needs repentance, and what burden of false accusation needs to be released?

Prayer
Truth must become practice.
Use four headings: sin to confess, harm to repair, limitation to accept, and grace to receive. Fill in one honest line under each.
