Is Anything Too Hard For God?

THE WORD

Sarah laughed. She was ninety years old. Her womb had been dead for decades. The anatomy of the situation was settled — case closed, the biology does not lie, and hope in this direction had long since been buried. So she laughed — the laughter of someone whose hope has curdled into resignation, whose faith has been weathered down to cynicism, whose prayers about this particular promise have dried up into a polite silence. She laughed, and God called it out. Not with condemnation — but with a question that is one of the most powerful sentences in all of Scripture: Is anything too hard for the LORD? That question was not rhetorical. It demands an answer. And it is demanding yours today.

You have a Sarah situation in your life — something you have stopped believing for because the natural evidence says it is impossible. Maybe it is a prodigal child who shows no signs of returning. Maybe it is a physical body that the doctors have given a verdict on. Maybe it is a financial situation so deeply buried under debt that the numbers make faith seem naive. Maybe it is a marriage that has gone cold and dead. Maybe it is a calling that you once burned for but have quietly conceded is too far gone to still be possible. You have laughed, haven't you? The quiet, cynical, self-protective laugh of someone who used to believe but has decided it is safer not to anymore. God heard it. And His response is the same as it was to Sarah: Is anything too hard for the LORD?

The appointed time. That phrase deserves your full attention. God said, "At the time appointed I will return." Not maybe. Not if the conditions are right. At the appointed time. God operates on a calendar that is not visible to you and does not accommodate your impatience. The length of the waiting period is not evidence of God's inability — it is evidence of His precision. He is not late. He has never been late. And the fact that a year passed between His first promise to Abraham and the conception of Isaac did not diminish the certainty of the promise — it only set the stage for a miracle that no one could credit to human effort.

Your laugh of unbelief has been heard. Repent of it. Replace it with the laughter that comes after the miracle — the laughter of Sarah who named her son Isaac, meaning "laughter," because God had turned her mourning into dancing. The God who opened Sarah's dead womb can open whatever has been closed in your life. But you must stop agreeing with the limitations of the natural and start agreeing with the unlimited nature of the supernatural God you serve. Is anything too hard for the LORD? Answer the question. Answer it today. And let your answer determine how you pray and what you dare to believe.

What specific promise from God have you quietly given up on — laughed off — because the natural evidence has convinced you that it is too late, too far gone, or too impossible for even God to fulfill?

FAITH RESPONSE

I declare that nothing — absolutely nothing — is too hard for the LORD my God. I repent of every cynical laugh, every prayer I stopped praying, every promise I quietly buried because the wait was too long. I pick up every promise God has given me and I re-plant it in the soil of renewed faith today. My appointed time is in God's hands, and I trust His calendar over my calendar. The miracle is coming. I choose to believe it before I see it.

Prayer

God, I confess that I have laughed — not with joy, but with doubt — at the very promises You made me. I have looked at my natural circumstances longer than I have looked at Your supernatural ability, and unbelief has moved into the space where faith used to live. Forgive me. Today, I evict doubt and I reinstate faith. I bring every buried promise back to the altar and I say — I still believe. I believe in the God who opens dead wombs, parts seas, raises dry bones, and does the impossible on schedule. Resurrect my faith. Keep Your appointed time.

Write down the one promise from God you have quietly stopped believing for. Then write the words "IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?" above it in bold letters. Pray over it aggressively for at least ten minutes — not a request, but a declaration of renewed faith.
