2 Samuel 22:2–3

David names God as rock, fortress, refuge, shield, and deliverer. He rehearses the character of God because remembrance strengthens a soul that has traveled through danger. Praise gives truthful testimony about who God is.
Praise is not denial. The same Psalms that celebrate deliverance also ask hard questions, grieve loss, confess fear, and wait in darkness. Holy lament and praise belong to the same faithful vocabulary.
Nor is praise a technique that guarantees immediate relief. Silence does not automatically prolong a trial, and emotional intensity does not obligate God to change circumstances. Depression and trauma may require compassionate community, clinical care, rest, and patient treatment alongside prayer.
Name God’s faithfulness without pretending pain is absent. Let worship steady your allegiance while you take every wise step the situation requires. Praise is powerful as witness, not as a lever for controlling Heaven.
