BIBLE JOURNEY · DANIEL

Pray Faithfully Under Pressure

STUDY 119Daniel 6:10 · ESV

FOUNDATIONAL READING · ESV

Daniel 6:10

Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.

THE WORD

Daniel continued his established practice of prayer after a law targeted his devotion to God. His open window and three daily prayers reflected long-formed faithfulness, not a sudden performance designed to provoke arrest.

The story does not mean every law we dislike requires public defiance or that one prayer schedule binds all believers. Civil disobedience demands moral clarity, wise counsel, awareness of consequences, and concern for people placed at risk.

Build prayer habits before crisis. When pressure comes, remain faithful without theatricality, use lawful rights where appropriate, protect vulnerable people, and entrust courage to God.

CONFRONTATION QUESTION

Which quiet practice must become steady now so pressure does not decide your allegiance later?

FAITH RESPONSE

I will cultivate faithful prayer, discern public resistance wisely, and refuse both cowardice and performative defiance.

🙏🏿 LET US GO INTO THE THRONE ROOM OF GRACE AND MERCY.™

Prayer

God who heard Daniel, deepen our prayer in ordinary days. Give persecuted believers courage, protect the vulnerable, and guide every response with wisdom and truth.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT

Truth must become practice.

Choose a sustainable daily prayer rhythm for the next week and keep it quietly, without turning the practice into a display.
