Prayer follows the armor because communion with God belongs throughout the whole struggle. Paul repeats the language of all: all times, all kinds of prayer, all perseverance, and all the saints. Prayer is not a decorative ending to spiritual preparation; it keeps believers watchful, dependent, and connected to one another.
This does not mean one missed prayer causes every fall or that prayer mechanically activates God. Salvation is secured by Christ, not by perfect devotional performance. Still, neglected prayer weakens attention. We become more likely to interpret life only through fear, appetite, outrage, or self-reliance when we stop bringing the whole field before God.
Pray in the Spirit with Scripture open, motives examinable, and other believers in view. Include praise, confession, lament, petition, intercession, and silence. Perseverance is not endless religious noise; it is returning to God without pretending, trusting that dependence is strength rather than failure.
