BIBLE JOURNEY · 2 CORINTHIANS

Represent the Kingdom You Belong To

STUDY 2032 Corinthians 5:20 · ESV

FOUNDATIONAL READING · ESV

2 Corinthians 5:20

Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.

THE WORD

Paul calls the apostolic messengers ambassadors for Christ through whom God makes an appeal of reconciliation. An ambassador does not invent the message or seek personal celebrity; the ambassador represents the character and purpose of the One who sends.

Believers apply this identity by bearing faithful witness, though not every Christian claim carries apostolic authority equal to Scripture. Saying God told me does not make a private opinion untouchable. Christ’s representatives remain accountable to the biblical gospel, the fruit of the Spirit, wise community, and truthful conduct.

Tourists consume a place for experience; ambassadors accept responsibility for representation. Ask what your speech, online behavior, business dealings, political engagement, and treatment of opponents announce about the kingdom. Reconciliation cannot be credibly preached through contempt.

CONFRONTATION QUESTION

What part of your public or private conduct misrepresents the reconciling Christ whose name you carry?
