C H O F MINISTRY™ — UNIFIED MANNA™

Born This Way Doesn’t Mean Stay This Way

The gospel does not deny our histories or complexities; it announces that no inherited condition or practiced pattern has final authority over new creation in Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

WISDOM WHISPERS™

Grace meets us without requiring a fictional past, but it loves us too deeply to declare every present pattern untouchable.
— Bishop W. F. Houston Jr.
καινόςkainos

Word StudyKainos means new in quality or character, not merely recent in time. In Christ, the believer enters a renewed order of life governed by reconciliation and grace.

THE DEVOTION

Human lives begin with realities we did not choose: bodies, temperaments, families, wounds, cultures, vulnerabilities, and dispositions. Christian theology should never speak carelessly about those complexities or pretend every struggle has a simple origin. Testimony is not strengthened by claims Scripture does not make.

Paul’s language is broader and deeper: anyone in Christ is a new creation. Kainos means new in quality. Conversion does not erase memory, personality, or embodiment. It relocates identity and allegiance. The risen Christ, not ancestry, appetite, trauma, desire, success, or shame, receives final authority to name the believer’s life.

This truth applies universally. Anger may feel instinctive. Pride can feel protective. Addiction may be entangled with biology and trauma. Sexual desire can feel deeply rooted. Anxiety may have bodily dimensions. The gospel does not shame complexity, but neither does it treat every powerful impulse as a command that must be obeyed.

New creation is not a promise that every unwanted feeling disappears or that every person’s transformation follows the same timetable. Christians should not offer simplistic guarantees about sexual orientation, mental illness, addiction, disability, or trauma. We proclaim Christ’s faithful presence, moral lordship, sustaining grace, and the Spirit’s patient work within truthful community.

That community must reject coercion and manufactured testimony. No one should be pressured to claim a change that has not occurred, denied responsible health care, or made into evidence for somebody else’s ministry. Discipleship tells the truth about both struggle and grace. It celebrates obedience without turning one person’s experience into a universal timetable that burdens everyone else.

Bring your whole story to Christ without editing it for church respectability. Receive wise pastoral and professional care where needed. Practice the next obedience Scripture makes clear. You are more than the strongest desire you experience and more than the worst thing you have done. In Christ, the old order no longer owns the final word.

🙏🏿 LET US GO INTO THE THRONE ROOM OF GRACE AND MERCY.™

Prayer

Lord Jesus, meet us in every inherited burden, practiced sin, deep desire, wound, and fear. Deliver us from shame and from surrendering identity to anything beneath Your lordship. Give us truthful community, wise care, patient endurance, and power for the next faithful act of new-creation living.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

BENEDICTION

May the risen Christ hold your whole history and lead you patiently into the life of new creation.
