THE DEVOTION
The valley represents ‘the whole house of Israel’ in exile saying, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost.’ This is a corporate promise of restoration to a scattered people, not a guarantee that every private dream will be revived.
When God asks whether the bones can live, Ezekiel does not manufacture certainty. He answers, ‘O Lord GOD, you know.’ Humble faith admits the impossibility and leaves sovereign knowledge with God.
Ezekiel speaks because God commands him, but the breath remains God’s gift. Declarations do not control resurrection. Communities are restored through God’s Spirit alongside truth, repentance, justice, trauma care, rebuilt trust, and patient organization.
Stand over the valley without pretending it is a garden. Pray for the Spirit’s breath, speak Scripture faithfully, and participate in the work of repair. Hope does not deny the bones. It trusts that death is not beyond the reach of God.
