Zechariah 4:6
Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.THE WORD
Zechariah’s word came to Zerubbabel during temple rebuilding: the work would be completed not by military force or human domination but by God’s Spirit. The vision does not despise planning, skill, labor, or organization.
The Spirit often works through architects, craftspeople, administrators, teachers, counselors, clinicians, volunteers, budgets, and patient cooperation. Dependence on God is not an excuse for incompetence or lack of accountability.
Reject both control and passivity. Pray for the Spirit’s power, build with sound practice, share leadership, protect people, and let outcomes belong to God rather than ego.
CONFRONTATION QUESTION
Where are you relying on force or personality, and where are you using spiritual language to avoid competent work?
