Ezekiel 18:20
Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.THE WORD
Ezekiel 18 rejects the proverb that children automatically bear the judicial guilt of their parents. Each person is morally accountable before God, and repentance opens a real future.
The chapter does not deny generational trauma, learned behavior, poverty, racism, family systems, inherited illness, or the consequences of another person’s choices. A person can be affected by a bloodline without being guilty for an ancestor’s sin.
Take responsibility for what is yours while receiving compassion for what happened to you. Healing may include therapy, medical care, boundaries, community support, lament, justice, and patient relearning—not slogans that erase history.
CONFRONTATION QUESTION
What is yours to change, and what inherited wound needs compassion and appropriate help rather than blame?

Prayer
Truth must become practice.
Draw two circles: ‘mine to own’ and ‘mine to heal from.’ Place one item in each and identify the right support for both.
