FOUNDATIONAL READING · ESV
Micah 3:11
Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.THE WORD
Micah condemns rulers who take bribes, priests who teach for a price, and prophets who practice divination for money while claiming the LORD guarantees safety. Religious vocabulary had become camouflage for exploitation.
God’s name does not immunize a ministry, leader, or institution from scrutiny. Financial integrity, truthful claims, safeguarding, independent oversight, fair treatment, and transparent correction are spiritual matters.
Accountability is not persecution simply because it is uncomfortable. Examine systems as well as motives, protect whistleblowers from retaliation, and refuse to use divine language where evidence and character contradict the claim.
CONFRONTATION QUESTION
Where is spiritual language being used to avoid financial, ethical, or safeguarding accountability?

Prayer
Truth must become practice.
Review one ministry policy for finances, safeguarding, conflicts of interest, or complaints. Identify one gap and the independent person responsible to address it.
