THE WORD

Micah 6 places Israel in a covenant lawsuit. The people propose escalating sacrifices, but the prophet answers with a life shaped by justice, hesed, and humble walking with God.

The verse is clear without being easy. Justice confronts unfair power; steadfast love practices loyal mercy; humility refuses self-sufficiency. These do not earn salvation. They are covenant fruit in people who receive God’s grace.

Application is both personal and structural. Kindness cannot substitute for justice, and activism cannot substitute for humble communion with God. The three belong together in durable discipleship.
