Isaiah compares all of us to sheep who have turned to our own way, then announces astonishing grace: the LORD laid our iniquity upon the suffering servant. The passage exposes universal wandering and God’s redemptive action.
Christ’s self-giving was not made meaningless by the ongoing struggle of a believer. His sacrifice is sufficient; repentance is our grateful return, not a payment added to the cross. We must not turn every preference or mistake into proof that someone is ‘crucifying Jesus again.’
Name actual rebellion without manufacturing guilt. Submit desire and plans to Scripture, wise counsel, and love of neighbor. Then return to the Shepherd who seeks wanderers, bears sin, and teaches a new way.
