A Fire That Must Be Tested and Spoken Faithfully

Jeremiah tried to stop speaking because proclamation had brought ridicule and pain, yet the prophetic word felt like fire shut within his bones. This was the burden of an appointed prophet, not a license for every intense feeling to be labeled God’s message.

Speech in God’s name demands testing, humility, accuracy, love, and accountability. Silence can be cowardice, but it can also be wisdom, safety, confidentiality, or patient listening. Abuse disclosures and threats require appropriate safeguarding, not dramatic public performance.

If truth must be spoken, say it clearly and responsibly. Distinguish Scripture from inference, conviction from preference, and urgency from ego. A faithful messenger remains accountable for both content and manner.
