BIBLE JOURNEY · JEREMIAH

Known by God, Called as Jeremiah

STUDY 100Jeremiah 1:5 · ESV

FOUNDATIONAL READING · ESV

Jeremiah 1:5

Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.

THE WORD

Jeremiah 1:5 records a specific prophetic commission: before Jeremiah’s birth, God appointed him as a prophet to the nations. We should not universalize every detail into a promise that each person has one hidden career assignment fixed in the same way.

The passage does reveal God’s initiative and intimate knowledge. Human worth does not begin with productivity, parental approval, public recognition, or the ability to articulate a grand destiny.

Receive your present responsibilities with humility. Test callings through Scripture, community, gifts, providence, competence, and love. God’s knowledge steadies identity without authorizing self-important claims.

CONFRONTATION QUESTION

Which part of your identity needs to rest in God’s knowledge rather than in applause, achievement, or a dramatic calling story?

FAITH RESPONSE

I am known by God and will receive my actual responsibilities with humility, courage, and accountable discernment.

🙏🏿 LET US GO INTO THE THRONE ROOM OF GRACE AND MERCY.™

Prayer

God who knew Jeremiah, ground our identity in Your grace. Clarify our responsibilities and protect us from both insignificance and self-exalting destiny language.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT

Truth must become practice.

Write the duties already entrusted to you. Ask a mature believer which one most needs faithful attention now.
