Paul warns that corrupting influence can deform good character. Relationships train imagination, normalize conduct, and shape what we consider possible. Love does not require pretending that every circle is safe or every influence harmless.
Yet people are not contamination. Jesus ate with sinners without adopting their rebellion, and Christian mission requires presence among those who do not share our convictions. The issue is not whether someone is imperfect; everyone is. The question is which direction the relationship exerts, whether boundaries are respected, and whether you are becoming less truthful, less loving, or less free.
Discern between companionship, ministry, mentorship, and intimate influence. Some relationships need clearer limits; some need accountability; some dangerous relationships need distance. Do not use mission language to rationalize compromise, and do not use holiness language to justify superiority or isolation.

Which relationship consistently lowers your resistance to harm, and which outsider have you unfairly treated as though holiness required contempt?
