FOUNDATIONAL READING · ESV
John 15:5
Read the complete passage slowly before entering the reflection. Let the biblical text govern every application that follows.THE WORD
Jesus describes Himself as the vine and disciples as branches. Lasting fruit comes from communion with Him, not from autonomous religious productivity.
Abiding is not passive escape or a demand to feel spiritual every moment. It includes receiving Christ’s word, prayer, obedience, love, community, pruning, rest, and returning when distraction has pulled the heart away.
Apart from Christ, ministry can remain busy and still become barren or harmful. Structures should protect time for worship, family, Sabbath, formation, and accountability rather than consuming workers in the name of fruit.
CONFRONTATION QUESTION
What current activity looks fruitful publicly but is draining the communion that should sustain it?
FAITH RESPONSE
🙏🏿 LET US GO INTO THE THRONE ROOM OF GRACE AND MERCY.™
Prayer
Truth must become practice.
Protect twenty minutes for undistracted prayer and Scripture, then remove or delegate one task that repeatedly crowds out abiding.
