“Lord, Lord” and the Fruit of Obedience

THE WORD

Jesus warns that religious speech and impressive works cannot substitute for a life genuinely related to Him and aligned with the Father’s will. Ministry activity is not self-authenticating.

The passage should awaken honest examination, not obsessive terror or a works-based attempt to earn salvation. We are saved by grace, and the grace that joins us to Christ begins producing repentance, love, justice, truth, and obedience.

Gifts, claims, and platforms require testing. Look for accountable character and durable fruit, and bring hidden disobedience into the light before religious activity becomes camouflage.

Father, join our confession to obedient trust. Expose performance without crushing assurance, and form in us the recognizable fruit of people known by Christ.
